Our Programs- Poverty Eradication Program

Poverty is a multifaceted challenge. Providing reliable and responsible support services is part of the solution, just like providing education, health care, clean water or access to energy.

Within the Nigerian context therefore, the following conditions are perceived as poor:

i. Households or individuals below the poverty line and whose incomes are insufficient to provide for their basic needs.

ii. Households or individuals lacking access to basic services, political contracts and other forms of social support.

iii. People in isolated rural areas who lack essential infrastructures and social amenities.

iv. Female-headed households whose nutritional needs are not being met adequately.

v.  Persons who have lost their jobs and are unable to find employment as a result of economic reforms.

vi. Ethnic minorities who are marginalized, deprived and persecuted economically, socially, culturally and politically.

Economic growth remains the primary means of reducing poverty and improving the quality of life.

LiveBridge Foundation was established to help alleviate poverty and social exclusion by facilitating empowerment of underprivileged communities. To achieve this, our Poverty Eradication Program (PEP) focuses on generating sustainable income through capacity development, fostering community links and empowering small-scale enterprises. This, in turn, helps strengthen the local economy and provide new opportunities tomore people.

The LiveBridge PEP lays great emphasis on empowerment and development of entrepreneurial ventures, which are owned by the disadvantaged inthe society. The PEP also aims at:

- promoting microfinance, self-help groups, capacity building and small businesses.

- fostering linkages between community collectives and financial institutions.

- focus on improving the literacy, numeracy and critical thinking skills to promote sustainable means of support.

-Providing social welfare services.
